Spirulina Pesto Pizza
To create this savory pizza meal, this recipe calls for fresh and simple ingredients. It’s exactly what you need at the end of the day when a quick and easy meal is all you have time for. Who said fast food isn't healthy? Spirulina Pesto Pizza Sauce Pesto* 2 Cups Fresh Basil Moderately Packed 1 Cup Fresh Spinach Moderately Packed ½ Cup Almonds 2 Large Cloves Minced Garlic Juice from One Lemon 2 Tbs Fresh Spirulina ¾ Tsp Sea Salt ½ Tsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper ¼ Cup Olive Oil *Buy a pre-made pesto sauce of your choice and mix in the spirulina for a quicker dinner! Pulse together in a food processor until smooth. Pizza Dough We used a pre-made dough from Trader Joe’s. Leave refrigerated dough at room temperature for 30 mins. (per the package instructions) Knead the dough with 1 Tbs of flour on a flat surface. Stretch the dough into your desired shape and size. Pizza Toppings 1 Tbsp Olive Oil (Plus a little extra for brushing onto flatbread) 1 8 Oz Package Baby Bella Mushrooms Roughly Chopped 10-20 cherry or grape tomatoes sliced in half 10 stalks asparagus chopped into large chunks ½ - 1 full bell pepper chopped into small pieces Salt and Pepper to Taste 2/3 Ball of Burrata Cheese broken into 6-9 smaller pieces Optional: Pine nuts The toppings amounts will vary based on your personal preference Spread as much sauce as you desire onto the pizza dough. Add your topping and bake at 475 to desired crispiness! Serve hot and enjoy.
